Turtle Bay Croydon ♡New Restaurant Opening 29th Jan 2017♡

Turtle Bay restaurant and bar is opening in Croydon on Jan 29th and we were lucky enough to be invited to the press dinner just before the opening to try it out.
Turtle Bay is a Caribbean restaurant and bar serving delicious food in a super laid back atmosphere.

The Setting

The beach shack inspired interiors bring a little bit of sunshine to these cold winter months, along with the vibrant colour scheme this easily transports you to sunnier climates. Turtle Bay's trademark use of reclaimed materials has not been missed in this space. The overall interiors are fun and relaxed, set up for the welcoming and sociable atmosphere of the venue.

The Food

The menu is, as you would imagine, a vast choice of bold flavours all inspired by the Caribbean.
There are an array of dishes to pick from so here are some of the top choices:

The Beach Food Platter:
This is the perfect sharing starter, a selection of spicy jerk chicken wings, hot pepper roti, sweet corn fritters and garlic and herb fritters. The prefect mix of Caribbean flavours to start off your meal.
Street Burger:
A beef burger topped with pulled jerk pork and lettuce on a sweet bun, served with onion chutney, herb mayo and Caribbean slaw.
The Goat Curry:
Turtle Bay's signature dish - this is a must have when trying this restaurant of the first time.
Jerk Chicken:
The Jerk Chicken is marinated for 24 hours and grilled with sour orange chutney and coconut shavings. It comes with a choice of coconut jerk glaze or classic jerk glaze.

The Drinks:
The bar offers more than 40 Caribbean rums to choose from…thats basically all I need to say right?!
And if that didn't sell you in itself Turtle Bay's Happy Hour runs form 11:30am-7pm and then starts up again at 10pm! With all cocktails on the menu at 2 4 1 during this time! A dream!!
Overall Experience
Would definitely recommend to a friend!
